The design
Angled terrace slabs cantilever out behind glass rails on two levels, above a curved garden pool.
Altura stacks the day in three layers and puts the main living floor in the middle, one level above the street.
At street level, a base of travertine and white render holds the garage, a home gym behind a glazed wall, a sauna, a WC and a mechanical room. On the garden side, a glazed lounge with its own grill kitchen opens straight onto the pool. This is the level for long weekends: swim, cook outside, and never quite get changed.
One floor up, living, dining and kitchen share a single room of about 75 m² (807 ft²), anchored by a large stone island with a breakfast bar. Laundry, pantry, a guest shower room and a cloakroom sit around it. Covered terraces wrap two sides of the room, their angled slabs cantilevered out behind glass rails, so dinner moves outdoors as soon as the evenings warm up.
The top level is for sleep and quiet work: four bedrooms, a separate study, a walk-in closet and two bathrooms. The primary bathroom has a freestanding tub, a double basin and a level-access shower, and more terraces open from this level.
Outside, a bronze-toned vertical volume cuts through the white render and travertine and gives the house its upward line. Large glazed walls keep every level in sight of the garden and the pool below.
