The design
Roof slabs reach out past the glass, and stone-faced walls step the garden down to the pool in wide terraces.
Cascade is drawn for ground that falls away. Two flat-roofed volumes sit one above the other, their slabs reaching out past the glass, and the whole house faces downhill toward a terrace, a pool and the view beyond.
On the main level, one room of 83 m² (893 ft²) gathers living, dining and a kitchen with a stone island under a 3.30 m (10 ft 10 in) ceiling. Sliding glass walls open it to a covered terrace, so summer meals move outside without rearranging anything. Behind the kitchen is a daylit home gym of 28 m² (301 ft²), with a sauna and a bathroom beside it, a short walk from the pool for an evening swim. A two-car garage and a mechanical room complete the level.
Upstairs is the quiet floor. Three bedrooms of 17 to 19 m² (183 to 205 ft²) share a bathroom and a stair hall, and the roof of the lower volume becomes a 38 m² (409 ft²) terrace behind a glass balustrade, looking over the pool.
In the renderings, the walls read as warm stone, the glazing has dark frames, and stone-faced retaining walls carry the garden down the hill in wide terraces. For a villa raised on a plateau above the street instead, with its pool beside the living room, see Belvedere.

How is Cascade laid out over its two levels?
The main level holds the open living, dining and kitchen zone, the home gym with its sauna and bathroom, a mechanical room and the two-car garage. The upper level has three bedrooms, a shared bathroom and a 38 m² (409 ft²) terrace over the pool.
What kind of plot was Cascade designed for?
It was drawn for a sloping plot, with the house on the upper, street side and the garden stepping down in terraces. Fitting it to the levels of your own site is part of local adaptation.
Are the pool and the terraced garden part of the plan?
