The design
Under the white upper floor, a covered terrace of 26.76 m² (288 ft²) runs the length of the living room, deep enough for lunch in the rain.
Oasis sets light against dark. The upper floor is a white box outlined by a thick dark fascia. Below it, walls of dark stacked stone anchor the house, and a covered terrace on slim columns runs along the garden side. A single-level wing holds the two-car garage and sets the composition off center.
The main level is planned around daily routines. The living and dining room, 39.48 m² (425 ft²), opens along its length to the covered terrace: shade at midday, shelter when it rains. The kitchen is a separate room, with a pantry and utility space beside it, so cooking and clutter stay out of view. A flex room drawn as a home gym works just as well as a study. The store and mechanical room, 20.18 m² (217 ft²), has its own outside door for bikes and garden tools, and the garage opens into the hall.
Upstairs, the principal bedroom has a walk-in closet and a small balcony behind glass. Two more bedrooms, a family bathroom, a laundry and linen room and a study nook sit around the landing.
