The design
The hipped tile roof reaches over one corner of the house to cover a 30 m² (323 ft²) terrace, two sliding doors from the kitchen table.
Serena is small the way a good holiday house is small: everything within reach, and the main outdoor room under the same roof. A dark gray tile roof with a chimney covers the house and reaches over one corner to shelter the terrace. White render, whitewashed brick-look cladding and dark-framed sliding glazing complete the outside.
Two sliding glass doors join the terrace to the open living, dining and kitchen room of 31.82 m² (343 ft²). With both open, breakfast, lunch and supper move outside without carrying anything far, and the terrace stays shaded and dry.
The two bedrooms are 13.73 and 13.79 m² (148 ft² each). One is drawn as a double; the other has a single bed and a desk, so it can be a guest room, a study or a child's room. They share a bathroom with a walk-in shower, and a separate WC with a basin eases busy mornings. A pantry and an entrance hall of 9.84 m² (106 ft²) complete the plan.
On the plan, timber decking with planters wraps the house, so the garden starts at the door. Serena is the two-bedroom counterpart of Hearth, which trades the corner terrace for a third bedroom and a two-car garage.

Questions about Serena
How is Serena different from Hearth?
Both are 100 m² (1,076 ft²) one-story homes under hipped roofs. Serena has two bedrooms, a covered corner terrace and no garage; Hearth has three bedrooms and a two-car garage.
Is the pool in the renderings part of the design?
No. The pool and sun deck appear only in the renderings. The floor plan shows the house, its covered terrace and a timber deck with planters around it.
Does Serena have a garage?
No garage is drawn, so parking is arranged on your site.
